We are a small team of interdisciplinary researchers, scientists, designers and engineers located in Mountain View. We are passionate about inventing experience-centric future products and technologies. We aim for real world impact by turning our disruptive concepts into products that connect objects, environments, information and people.
Our work covers a large time scale, from products that are ready to be mass-produced, to ideas that will take many years to come to fruition. We create new product classes, re-imagine existing products, and explore new materials, technologies, and affordances. We create basic technological “raw materials” that will power future devices and systems, and also fine tune existing systems to create new and more refined experiences.
We draw inspiration from Henri Poincaré, who stated that “It is by logic that we prove, but by intuition we discover.” We seek inspiration in the needs of everyday life, then seek impact by creating prototypes and technologies that have a strong potential to become products. We intuit, and then we prove.
We don’t just imagine the future. We build it. Integral to our approach is the creation of prototypes, because we believe that only by holding the thing in our hands — by manipulating, examining, breaking, and fixing it — can we fully refine an idea and realize its full potential. And by letting others touch and play with these prototypes, we show the value of an idea more eloquently than a hundred thousand words.

Together, we combine new designs, materials, technologies, and approaches to create products that change the meaning of “tomorrow.”
Our team is led by Pranav Mistry and crewed by experts in fields from industrial design to physics, with experience in institutions such as MIT Media Lab, Disney Imagineering, ART+COM, RISD, Art Center and others. Our areas of interest include electrical engineering, robotics, optics, computational imaging, machine learning, natural language processing, visual design, computational graphics, material science, biochemistry, and others. We are driven by our shared passion to expand our mission to frontiers we haven’t thought of yet.
